My name is Steve Oates and I work as a Freelance Web Designer/ Developer in the South of England.

I have just completed a Degree in Graphic Design and Interactive Media at the Arts Institute, Bournemouth. All course projects have extended my knowledge base in design, which will help me to be confident in pursuing a creative career. I decided to follow the media route, as my abilities in the technical aspects of design are strong.

I have strong Art and Design skills from school. In pursuing a career in design I gained an interest in web site design. I continued to research into web design /development learning HTML/ CSS, PHP/MySQL, AJAX and JavaScript to produce dynamic web sites. I specialize in Flash development and Action Script. The experience acquired allowed me to set up as a freelance designer during my foundation degree. Being freelance has given me the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including Graphic Design, Web sites, Rich Internet Applications and Desktop Applications.

I have three years practical experience working with briefs established by clients. The experience has been valuable and has enabled me to work respectively with clients to perform a credited outcome for their business. I show a positive attitude, I'm organized which allows me to work under-pressure to deliver a professional end result on time.

SOI is now SOI Design Limited (July 2007 - Present)

SOI is now SOI Design Limited. Back in July 2007 I established my company, I currently hold a contract with Get IT Noticed.com as their Creative manager. Our current clients are Euro Control EAD Brussels, Bournemouth University, Poole Hospital, Evalu8 and more... Developing systems for our clients like Online flight planning applications, SiSo ™ (Asset management System) and Online survey/ reporting tools.
